Afforable Speakers (Meet Ultrasonic 20kHz Requirements) - Bengal - 09-10-2010

Hey guys -

Just sharing this here. Here were the cheapest pair of speakers on Amazon that fit with an iPod and have 20 kHz freq response, and seemed decent.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000KE48CM/ref=oss_product

I'm ordering two sets, one for my room and one for my work area (I work from home). Also for when I travel for long periods of time I'll take a set with me.

For use with Ultrasonics, so I can play music on other speakers (computer) and play the ultrasonic tracks in the background.

Enjoy, or add any suggestions of other speakers that you find.

Hmm I think Andrew should setup a thread somewhere with a list of recommended speakers that everyone could contribute to.

I like this idea. I think I will start a sort of open-FAQ section for the forum where the most common questions are addressed and people can contribute to things exactly like that.

Yeah agreed! I was looking for that thread myself Smile So this was a way to start it off.

I'll add mine to the list:

Sony Bookshelf speakers: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-SS-B1000-8-Inch-Bookshelf-Speakers/dp/B000OG88KY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1284156329&sr=8-1

I love this babies! They aren't very expensive for the quality they produce, great for a home theater system as well. You will need a receiver/stereo system to use them and a way to convert digital to analog/RCA cables in order to use a MP3 player or Computer. Great investment for long-term use, 50khz response.

GE Computer Speakers: http://www.target.com/GE-2-pc-Speakers/dp/B000F5LEC8/ref=sc_qi_detailbutton

Bought these at Target, they were only $11 and have a frequency response of 20khz. These are computer speakers so they need a USB slot in order to power. You can easily find a USB port to fit an electrical outlet as well.

Great Sony Earbuds for Sleeping while on vacation: http://www.target.com/Sony-Sweet-Little-Earbuds-MDREX33LPWHI/dp/B001RB24LY/ref=sc_qi_detailbutton

Bought these at Target as well. Used them on vacation for sleeping, they were one of the most comfortable and inexpensive pair I could find. I used them with a headband to keep them in place while sleeping.

Adding to this thread....

Me and John are trying out the Genius SP-i160 speakers which go up to 23 kHZ and are only about $20 US for the set! You can get them on Amazon, but here's the manufacturer's page for reference...

Okay guys, after searching long and hard, I finally found some great speakers to play subs on.

Here they are: Logic3 i-Station

These are affordable, compact, with 20khz frequency response and stereo sound. I have this dock in my room and just leave the subs on repeat 24/7. This way you don't have to worry about putting subs on every night or recharging because it's mains operated. As an added bonus it also charges your ipod at the same time so you kill two birds with one stone Smile

I also ordered some of these earbuds: Creative Labs EP-630

Bought these for travelling. They are comfortable and stay in the ear so it would probably be possible to sleep in them although I'm yet to try. They are high quality and have a frequency response of 23khz.

Hope this helps!

Cool

I have the following speakers:

http://www.logitech.com/en-us/speakers-audio/home-pc-speakers/devices/4252

http://www.logitech.com/en-us/speakers-audio/home-pc-speakers/devices/4251#section=features

Are these suitable?

RE: Afforable Speakers (Meet Ultrasonic 20kHz Requirements) - About - 02-13-2011

I have this ipod dock.

Sony
ICF-CS10IP

Will this work? I've done some searches to see if it has the right range but I can't seem to find any info so I was wondering if anyone here knew.

I was thinking about buying either Logitech LS11 or Creative A60. I went for Creative A60, since the same frequency response is written everywhere I've checked (including their own homepage and package). But for Logitech LS11 there are different Frequency Responses stated at different links (the upperlimit variying from 16 kHz to 20 kHz) and nothing on their homepage or package.

I've only used the subs for a week, so don't know how well the speakers are working yet.

Hey man thanks for this post. I was in search of this kind of speakers for my pod plus laptop. Actually I was about to get a floor standing speakers but as I saw your post I realized that buying floor standing speakers is not a portable one and cannot be used with my pod, but when I saw this post and went to the link to get one I found it to be the cheapest then expected so me too got two set of speakers for my pod and laptop.

RE: Afforable Speakers (Meet Ultrasonic 20kHz Requirements) - ManOfElectricity - 08-06-2011

I just ordered these computer speakers that go up to 22khz. Cool

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Audioengine-multimedia-speakers-Total-2-way/dp/B000VKEFN2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1312658295&sr=8-1

They are a little expensive but I prefer to get speakers that I know will definitely work for me.

RE: Afforable Speakers (Meet Ultrasonic 20kHz Requirements) - ManOfElectricity - 08-09-2011

My new speakers arrived today and I tested them out with Aura of Sexiness. Almost instantly I felt really calm and content. With the new speakers the ultrasonic subliminals seem to be having far more effect on me, even if I listen to them for five minutes. It's like getting an instant hit of calm or relaxed bliss.

I'm starting to think that my old speakers weren't that good and that maybe for the last year I haven't being getting the full effect from the ultrasonic subliminals. My old speakers say they go up to 20 Khz but I know that some speaker companies lie. I got an ipod dock a while ago that is supposed to go up to 20khz but as soon as played ultrasonics I could hear distortion right away, at any volume.

I'm glad that I got something now that I know will definitely work for me.

RE: Afforable Speakers (Meet Ultrasonic 20kHz Requirements) - succubus85722 - 08-09-2011

I have a good , certified pair of Altec lansing speakers that are good to 18 khz. When I play the ultrasonic subs, I hear nada, even at the highest volume. I know for a fact that the audio is going to them and they really are capable of doing these higher frequencies. BTW I found out that 10-20khz is actually allocated for submarine signals :-) (Watch, now I will go find a bunch of submarines in my front yard LOL)
